Executive Summary

Spacelink is a Melbourne based Tier 2 ISP providing dial-up & ADSL broadband internet access, web hosting, pre-selection telephony, computer sales and service, with a current client base consisting of SME business and residential clients.

Spacelink has grown from a small home office business into a fully-fledged company located in professional office suites in North Balwyn, Melbourne, and employs professional staff who provide a personalized approach to customer service.

Spacelink uses advanced software billing to track and action customer invoices. The software is flexible and has the ability to bundle internet plans.

Spacelink has a positive cash flow, boasts no interest incurring debts and has developed mature relationships with its suppliers, business partners and investors.

Company History

24 August 1997 - Spacelink was registered as a business by Stuart Clark. It originally operated out of a home office in Box Hill South, utilizing optic fibre connection into Telstra's backbone making it a fast and reliable dial-up internet solution.

7 June 1999 - The registered trademark, Spacelink, was obtained.

31 May 2000 - Company registration of Spacelink Communications Pty Ltd was completed.

26 November 2000 - Spacelink introduces web hosting services. Enviroment Victoria being one of the first websites to be hosted.

30 July 2001 - With the uptake of internet services by the general public Spacelink outgrew its small home office and moved to larger premises at 4/70 Doncaster Road, North Balwyn. Equipment was relocated to WorldCom data facility at 330-340 Spencer Street, West Melbourne.

6 December 2002 - Spacelink increases its network by partnering with Access Providers Pty Ltd. This enables Spacelink internet data to be connected via wireless access up to 20 MB/s throughout greater Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. A 20 Mb/s link is installed from the Rialto building to Balwyn enabling high speed access to North Balwyn traders.

19 March 2003 - Spacelink completes a pre-selection phone call billing system software. Linked with MCI wholesale voice Spacelink is able to provide discounted calls rates to customers and offer bundling of current services.

20 April 2004 - Spacelink opens a retail computer shop at its Nth Balwyn premise which includes a showroom entrance. New computer sales and computer repairs are carried out by experienced technicians.

31 May 2004 - Spacelink signs a partnership with Telstra Wholesale. This has increased network coverage to all Telstra Exchanges within Victoria via an ATM infrastructure. With this network addition Spacelink is able to offer ADSL broadband to residential and Business customers at competitive rates.

1 August 2005 - Spacelink aquires Netlink Connect increasing its customer base on Residential and Business levels.

1 September 2005 - Powertel signs agreements with Spacelink to provide highlevel enduser connectivity throughout Australia.

1 October 2005 - Spacelink creates a partnership with SPT/Comindico increasing the reach of Residential dialup and ADSL customers to a National level.

23 January 2006 - Spacelink replaces its networking equipment within the city colocation facility, utilizing optic fiber and gigabit ethernet technologies.

14 October 2008 - All state and territory dialup numbers are condenced into a single national number

01 December 2008 - ADSL2 network is connected through ISPOne. Speeds up to 24Mb/s achieved to end users.

18 February 2009 - Introduction of Mobile Broadband through the Optus Network.

26 May 2009 - Spacelink matches all Telstra retail homeline plans and adds an additional bonus saving if bundled with other Spacelink services.
